Commune Wednesdays Are Back

A movement of artists and musicians who are trying to bring environmental awareness to the scene

What is Commune? Commune is a movement of artists, designers, musicians, and individuals that take a stand against tobacco corporations and their presence within the art and music scene. To accomplish this goal, the brand puts together multiple concert events throughout the year, working with local Minneapolis musicians and artists. 

Commune’s presence became known to the area about three years ago in Minnesota when the movement started hosting its Wednesday night concert events. The purpose of the events is not to shame the smoker, but rather to inform the community of the negative effects that tobacco corporations and their products have on the environment and society as a whole. Commune Wednesdays provide a platform to bring together and educate the creative and thriving individuals in the Twin Cities and Duluth areas who share a love for music and art in an environment where they can network and celebrate. In the past, Commune has worked with local bands like Step Rockets, LASKA, Sam Cassidy, and Yam Haus.

The next event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, December 12, located at the Turf Club in St. Paul, MN. 

The event will consist of three local alternative/indie musical artists from the area, including Early Eyes, Stone Arch Isles, and Sleeping Jesus.
