Love on Tour

Two years since Love on Tour was announced, Harry Styles finally returned to the stage—and it was 100% worth the wait.

“For the next 90 minutes, it’s our job to entertain you. I promise we’ll do our very best. Your job is to have as much fun as you can.” Starting strong with the Malibu-esque song he wrote on shrooms, “Golden,” and ending the night with the 70s-rock-inspired banger, “Kiwi,” Harry Styles followed up on his promise at the Chicago show. The audience also didn’t disappoint, shouting lyrics from the top of their lungs and dancing without a care in the world. 

Seamlessly transitioning to heavy-hitting ballads like “Falling” and “Cherry,” Harry took us on an emotional journey from love and lust to heartbreak and acceptance within minutes. He even sang my favorite Fine Line song, “To Be So Lonely,” for the first—and as of now, the only—time on tour. With his raw emotions pouring out through vulnerably written lyrics, it felt like he was sharing a little piece of himself with the audience.  

This feeling of connectedness is what made the concert worth the one-and-a-half-year wait. Despite hundreds of people in the arena, Harry Styles managed to share uniquely intimate moments with every one of us. He treated us like his close friends, taking the time to express his gratitude and crack some jokes with people in the crowd. Even before the show, I felt a strong sense of community with the other concert-goers as we walked into the venue in our matching boas, cowboy hats, and fruit costumes. The entire night was an immersive experience; no matter where we were sitting, we were all a part of the show, making the songs come alive with Harry and with each other. The energy emanating from the stage and flowing through the audience was unmatched—we truly were feeling the love on tour.
