Springtime Beauty Routine

A commentary on spring selfcare and inner beauty

By: Chandra Baviera

Behind every face is some kind of routine to maintain beauty. Take different regions of the world, from Africa and Asia to North and South America. There are as many ideas of beauty as there are cultures in the world. The art of beauty is in self care.

As I write this, I scroll through my Pinterest feed for a glowing skin care routine, ways to grow healthy hair, fashion of the decade, and tips and tricks for wellness and mindfulness. Keeping care of your hair and skin over spring break may have been luxurious or a hectic excuse to get self care time for yourself. But it’s important to prioritize yourself when you have time.

Your beauty doesn’t just come from within but from accepting every detail, even your flaws. From head to toe, there is so much to care for. Here’s some insight to my typical beauty routine. Starting with your hair: pearl shampoo gives radiance, with shine throughout the strands. After washing your hair, go for a facial cleanser that washes out impurities. Great ones are based on your skin type, then flavor. For a smoother, more environmentally suitable face, a hibiscus moisturizer in the night and a eucalyptus moisturizer in the day will nourish sensitive skin. Don’t worry when May flowers come, because a hydrating, floral-scented serum after a vitamin-based toner always helps. Depending on your combination of products, there are always solutions for your skin type or reactions to products. Calendula flower face oil may benefit your skin, soothing it with a calming moisturizer. Finally, using a coconut water facial mist will enhance your skin.
