I don't usually find myself watching a show all the way through, or interested enough to invest until the end. I am more of a movie person, as the start and finish is encapsulated within two hours or less. It's much less of a commitment.

This summer however, I was scrolling on TikTok when HBO’s The Pitt popped up. It seemed like one of those popular and cheesy medical shows, which I've watched and abandoned millions of times. But from the get go, The Pitt hooked me. Pitt follows the premise of a Pittsburg hospital emergency room, each episode one hour on the shift. There's never-ending chaos and really interesting medical emergencies, some laughable and comic, some more serious.

We follow the main lead Dr. Michael Robinavitch, or, as everyone calls him, Dr. Robby, as he leads three new medical interns while also dealing with his own battles. He is an imperfect main character. That's something that impressed me about the show. They're not afraid to give each and every single character immense depth. You'll agree with some decisions they make, and you'll disagree or question others. You'll see characters battle their own morality and test their limits. They will be compassionate, yet logical in all their decisions. All of this as they get constantly presented with new intense challenges; dealing with suffering, hope, and the saddest of all, inevitable deaths that shape them as people and scar them forever.
