“Eusexua” teases FKA twigs’ newest musical era

FKA twigs’ newest single, “Eusexua,” is the first full-length teaser of the artist’s newest album, which shares its title with the single. It is brimming with the ambient background beats not unfamiliar to twigs’ past work, as well as new lyrics that express themes of unity, self-actualization, and celebration.
Beyond the musicality of the single, the work represents an exciting point for the artist. “EUSEXUA,” will be twigs’ third studio album. Twigs describes the album as her opus and states that “EUSEXUA has been my practice for the years that it has been my creation… [EUSEXUA] truly feels like a pin at the centre of the core of my artist.”
Undoubtedly, the themes, revelations, and lyrics of “EUSEXUA” will not only reflect what twigs claims to be the centrality of her artwork, but will also establish itself as the pinnacle of her music career thus far. The album is set to release in late January of 2025, meaning we’ve only a few more months to wait.
No matter what you think of her music, it is clear that twigs is an artist who does not play about her vision—something that I find highly respectable for a contemporary artist. She describes “EUSEXUA” as not only a practice, but also a state of being; the pinnacle of human experience. It is that moment when you strike gold in inspiration for your art; that moment when you fully embrace the human experience, in whatever capacity that means for you, from the easel to the dancefloor.
